Nancy Teasley of Oak & The Owl

Happy Monday Guys, thanks so much for stopping by the cafe and we are starting the week with our "Meet the Designer" series...say hello to the oh-so-beautiful and talented Nancy Teasley of Oak & The Owl!  I'm so excited to have Nancy join us today, her floral designs are ALWAYS so beautiful and I enjoy following her on INSTAGRAM to see what she's up to on a daily. Now get ready for some serious "floral love" as Nany shares a little bit of her world with us...Enjoy!!

From Nancy....."I mainly service all of Southern CA, from Santa Barbara to San Diego, but will happily travel anywhere for the right job. I love doing weddings in the Bay Area as my good friends are there, who are all designers and will sometimes work with me, and I get to have a little friend’s vacation while I’m working.  I’m also starting a new endeavor of a garden rose farm. I’ve started an IG account for it at @ellarosefarm. I haven’t taken the same care with the launch of this as I did with Oak & the Owl and I might regret it.

The reason I’ve been talking about it is because it’s such a long and drawn out process. If I kept it under wraps until I was ready to go to market, I’d be working for the next two years and not talking to anyone about it. So, if you want to watch the process of the land getting ready, the flowers going into the ground, and seeing our successes and failures, follow along. It should at least be fun, and those who want to do something similar can learn from what I’m currently learning every day."

Hi Guys, thanks for stopping by the cafe and today's feature is beyond sweet!  I have the pleasure of sharing a "behind the scenes" look at two very talented and AMAZING floral designers meeting for the first time...at the NY Flower Market of course!  Denise Fasanello, of Denise Fasanello Flowers located in Brooklyn and Brooke Howsley of Pollen Floral Art located in Austin, got together after becoming friends via email.  I have to share with you that I've met SO many wonderful floral friends via email and it's such a joy to finally meet in person...I can only imagine the fun Denise and Brooke had together designing beautiful floral arrangements and totally "girl chatting"....capturing their fun day and all the beautiful florals, Suzi Varin of Q Weddings!  I LOVE Suzi's work and I'm so excited to have her stop by the cafe today...now let's check out all the beautiful images Suzi sent over....Enjoy!!

I love this image of the flowers on the cart at the flower market...this is what we, floral designers do...placing all the floral on the cart to get a vision of the bouquet..and this combination of florals is truly "picture perfect"!

Kirstie Deane of Ruby & The Wolf

Happy Tuesday Guys....and today the café is back with our "Meet the Designer" series....stopping by the cafe today is the oh-so-talented and beautiful Kirstie Deane of Ruby & The Wolf.  Kirstie's floral designs are simply STUNNING!  I adore her style and though I've never met her personally, I feel like we are "floral sisters"!  Kirstie made the leap in the floral industry in 2013...yup, can you believe that it's only been a year...she ROCKS!  Here's a little snippet from the lady behind all those beautiful floral designs.....

"I’ve dreamed of becoming a florist for many years but only made the leap last year (in 2013). Now, of course, I wish I’d done it years ago! I trained at the wonderful Tallulah Rose Flower School in Bath in the South West of England in May and launched Ruby & The Wolf in July so everything stills feels very new! I currently work from home – at our kitchen table. We are building our own house this year and we’re planning to build a workshop in the garden that will become Ruby & The Wolf HQ. I can’t wait!
I’m based in Bristol in the South West of England and will travel throughout the South West, or further for the right event."

So, without further ado, let's check out Kirstie's fun interview and don't you just love her "selfie" image she sent over...so cool!!  Enjoy!!

Our friend Luke of Luke Eshleman Photography is stopping by the cafe sharing the beautiful images from Deborah &  Samuel's wedding story...they are such a beautiful couple and their special day took place at Oxon Hill Manor overlooking the Potomac River....such a gorgeous venue for a wedding!!  Deborah shared with me that with the help of her "wedding team"...i.e....her mother, aunt Fran, cousin Glenda, and her girlfriends, they were able to make all of the DIY projects, made over 200 wedding programs....they made the centerpieces, stuffed the welcome bags, made over 100 mini apple pies and any other tasks she asked them to help her with....and get this...Deborah's father made over 100 mini sweet potatoe pies for the pie bar!  Well, you all are going to love their wedding story and the images are all so beautiful...let's check them all out...Enjoy!!!
