| Happy Wednesday Guys...say hello to Megan & Mike....their wedding took place about a month ago at Northwind Perennial Farm in Burlington, Wisconsin. They had an outdoor DIY/vintage wedding on the "smaller side".....the ceremony and reception were both held at the farm......Megan collected dozens of vintage plates, knick knacks and kitschy figurines for each place setting and each table was a different color. They handmade everything themselves and gave out jars of honey (from Megan's family's farm) to the guests as favors. Capturing all the fun details is Sheila Teruty of Modern Day Flapper....and Shelia is also the owner of the cutest Etsy Shop selling vintage fashion....shoes...and home decor...Sheila ROCKS....she has mad style and I'm so happy to have stop by the cafe today.....Enjoy!!

A few weeks ago, the lovely ladies at the Pottery Barn here in Richmond, asked me to be a part of their wedding event and of course I was more than thrilled to participate....being a fan or Pottery Barn and getting to meet new brides in a gorgeous surrounding...YES PLEASE!! So, I immediately called my girl Dana, amazing stylist that she is and told her all the good news....{fyi..to all the lovely brides, if you are having trouble creating beautiful inspiration for your wedding day, Dana is your go-to-girl}...Dana suggested that she would put together four "style boards" to set the tone of the JMFlora Design table...OMG...Dana ROCKS!!!
My friend and AMAZING photographer, Tori Watson of Marvelous Things Photography was on hand to capture a few images of all the pretty inspiration!!
From Dana....."Call them what you prefer -- an "Inspiration Board, ""Mood Board," "Style Board," "Story Board" or "Photo Collage" putting images of pretty 'things' together to create a cohesive, well thought out vision is just plain ol' fun!
So when Janie called and wanted to talk about her Pottery Barn event I was ecstatic that by the end of our conversation I had the task of creating four boards for her event. My goal was come up with four distinct color boards to inspire Janie to create four different bouquets for essentially four different 'types' of brides.
This board below was inspired by my friend and illustrator Jane Kirby. Both Jane (herself) and her work-- especially her watercolors inspire me. Her painting of "Felicia" (the red haired image of the woman below) and her "Fuchsia Heels" was my starting point. I extruded the color palette from Jane's work by using Color Hunter and off I went using similar colors Jane did and creating what I thought would be launching point for an artsy "Jane" wedding (I know how you love Paris and macaroons Jane!).
