Hi Everyone! Coming to you all on a Thursday this week, but don't you worry, Friday is jussst around the corner! :-) For today, rest your eyes on a color combo that is energizing enough to help you make it through the week, yet calm enough to ease you into a restful holiday weekend! This soft yellow added to a dreamy barely-there pink makes the most beautiful summer combo! Add Khaki as a neutral and then things really pop! The result is simple, pure, sunny-day romance... Enjoy! :-)

Happy Wednesday and say hello to Nicole & Manuel....when I received their beautiful wedding images, yes, I had to do my "happy dance"....they are such a beautiful couple and I love the intimacy of their wedding...so filled with love from their families and friends....Nicole & Manuel's beautiful wedding story took place on April 16th in Charlotte, NC.......their wedding was so romantic and I loved the little touches of the "retro vibe" they incorporated.
Nicole shared that she knew Manuel was "the one", early on in their relationship....she said she was totally blown away with how sweet and loving he was and it was all totally confirmed through all of their heartfelt conversations late into the wee hours of the morning...Nicole knew Manuel was the man that she had prayed for!
Capturing all the beautiful details of Nicole & Manuel's wedding story is one of my favorite photographers in the DC area, Luke Eshleman of Luke Eshleman Photography....Luke always shares the most gorgeous images with us...I love it when he stops by the cafe....AND....Nicole & Manuel's wedding story can also be seen over at one of my favorite sites, Essence Online Bridal Bliss....I love sharing weddings with Essence...I'm having so much fun working with them!....let's check out all the beauty of Nicole & Manuel's big day....Enjoy!!

Truth be told. I've always been such a girl. Sure, I tried to play with the boys, show them I could hold my own in kickball... but yes, the things that make my heart pound are trimmed in ruffles and lace. Anything thats a little bit too frilly and reminds me of a big, fluffy pink peony- it immediately has my heart (...and also my wallet.) :-) Well anyway, all this girliness brings me to today's post... Inspired by the tea time my grandmother used to have every afternoon at 4:00. These tea times were complete with pretty china tea cups and saucers, cookies, homemade swedish coffee bread... everything. And we even had it outside on the porch sometimes. A subtle, old fashioned, tea party theme is ideal for a late afternoon garden wedding, in my mind. But obviously, so many other venues would work as well. It's what you want to do with it that matters! So sit back with some earl grey, and look to be inspired... which one of these ideas would you use? How would you add your personal touch? I'm excited to see what you think!

Good Morning again, loves! It's finally Friday and you know what that means?! It's the first official weekend of summer! As you're all getting ready to head out to the pool, beach, or basically anywhere else that is slam packed with other people, take a moment to rest your eyes on a perfect therapeutic color palette. As the summer is here, I will be finding some brighter colors to inspire us in the sunshine, but this week has been crazy and all I have been able to think of is getting a good night of sleep! So I decided on the calming elements of lavender. This popular, light, dusty shade of purple is very versatile. It can be made playful for a daytime wedding by adding shades of yellow, or dressed up with deeper shades of purple, such as plum. For today, I wanted to stick with the organic, natural-ness of it. So I chose to pair it with sage & mauve, both equally calm colors.
So before you start checking off your busy schedule, relax! After all, it is Friday! Dab a bit of lavender-scented oil on your wrists, and let the visual stress-relief begin!
