Welcome back to our special feature today....I am featuring the beautiful weddings sent in by our wonderful TBC readers...if you are just joining us, make sure you scroll down to check out Jacqueine & Demian...I'm so happy to have our readers share their wedding stories with us today...now let's check out Candy & Jaycee's special day and here's what Candy shared in her email...Enjoy!

"Hi Janie!!!  Congratulations on your new website!

I have been a fan of your blog for almost a year now.. it has inspired me in so many ways during my planning.  I was just wondering.. how does a wedding get featured in your blog?  It just seems that all the real weddings you featured came from vendors or can a wedding also get featured if a bride's the one who sends photos?  It would be such an honor to get featured in your blog!

"I don't even know if our wedding was bridescafe worthy, but it wouldn't hurt to try to send you some images right? :)

Jaycee,my husband and I live in
New Zealand, but we're both Filipinos. We went home to the Philippines for our wedding in December. We had a traditional filipino catholic wedding in an old church, Malate Church, which was built in the sixteenth century and we had a garden reception in Patio Victoria, which is located in the old spanish city, Intramuros, in manila.

We've been civilly married for almost 3 years and we have a 2-year-old daughter, who was also one of our flower girls!

My gown was made by a local designer, Veluz Reyes.  You know how some brides fall in love with their dresses when they fit them? I fell in love with my designer when I came across her blog and saw the beautiful dresses she made.  I only fitted my dress 3 weeks before the wedding and it was the perfect fit!  My gown also had 2 looks, I wore a top over the strapless dress in the church, which was inspired by a top Blair wore on Gossip Girl.. haha and for the second part of the reception, I removed the top and Veluz's people sewed a bronze belt on to the strapless dress to match my bronze Louboutins :)  She also provided the hairpiece and the bag :)

I had 2 pairs of shoes, the bronze python Louboutins and a pair of green/pink satin nine west heels, which I bought because it had my wedding colors :)

I also DIYed a lot of stuff with the help of my sister and our wedding coordinator.  So, if you think our wedding is worth blogging about, I could send you photos of the details too :)

Thank you so much for your time Janie!  I already feel honoured that you found the time to read my email!"

Regards,
Candy

Today at TBC, I want to introduce you to two very special guests...Jacqueline and Candy......"TBC Fans" and they sent me their gorgeous wedding stories and I am so happy to share them with all of you.  I'll begin each feature with the "super sweet" email that I received from them.....I just had to share it with you because their words put a smile on my face...up first is Jacqueline....Enjoy!

"Hi Janie,
I've been a big fan of The Bride's Cafe since I discovered it earlier this year while planning my wedding this fall - it was such a fantastic source of inspiration to me, and I still enjoy reading your blog as a married woman :)  I thought you might be interested to see the photos from our wedding, courtesy of our wonderful photographers, and to hear our story.

My husband Demian and I were married on
September 6, 2008 at the Hakone Gardens in Saratoga, California.  In planning our wedding, we were very much inspired by the natural, dramatic beauty of our venue, which is the oldest surviving Japanese-style gardens in the Western hemisphere, consisting of historic buildings nestled amongst hillside gardens, bamboo forests, and koi ponds.  Because September is water lily season at Hakone, our wedding stationery featured a water lily and koi motif.

The fall garden theme reappeared at our traditional Chinese banquet reception, which featured submerged lotus pod, calla lily, and pincushion centerpieces set in moss and river rock containers, as well as a four-tier (two flavor) cake covered with sugar paste river rocks, water lilies, and topped with a replica of the garden bridge at Hakone.  In keeping with the regal elegance of the gardens, taiko drums signalled the beginning of the ceremony and entrance of the groom with his groomsmen and the officiant.

At the end of the day, Demian and I had the most fun making our wedding personal, from our music selections to the favors we gave to guests.  Having been best friends since high school, we wanted to add details to our special day to acknowledge the things that we have, over the years, come to enjoy together and love about one another.

By way of example, Demian's parents and my bridesmaids entered to Debussy's "Clair de Lune," the first piece that I ever heard Demian, an accomplished pianist, play at a school concert during our freshman year of high school.  Rather than walking down the aisle to "Here Comes the Bride" or Pachabel's "Canon in D," I descended my hilltop perch to the "Portugese Love Theme" (a song from my favorite movie "Love Actually"), carrying as my "something blue" a collection of short stories by Roald Dahl called "Kiss Kiss."

At our reception, each of our guests was given an envelope escort card, containing a table assignment and a little-known fact about the couple.  And on each table setting, we placed for our guests a tin of Earl Grey tea (Demian's favorite), as well as one of my first dessert recipes - Earl Grey chocolate truffles.

Even though Demian and I had known for many years that we would eventually marry, our engagement and the wedding itself was no less sweet.  We hope you enjoy perusing some of our favorite wedding photos!"
