Monday, December, 5, 2011  |  Flowers & Décor

Happy Monday Guys....I hope you all had a wonderful weekend....mine was busy as usual....lots of fun floral shoots coming up at the cafe for 2012, so my weekends have been filled with flowers, models and tons of details....and speaking of fun floral shoots....I have two gorgeous shoots to share with you today...the first one was sent over by Vicki Grafton of Vicki Grafton Photography and Vicki was also the stylist for the shoot...not only is Vicki an AMAZING photographer, she is also the lead stylist and owner of My Simple Details....yes, Vicki ROCKS!!..... and all the beautiful florals were designed by our "floral sister", Holly of Holly Heider Chapple Flowers...Holly's flowers are always so beautiful, so, you know you are in for lots of prettiness when Vicki and Holly team up...and as always, they have done it again...a gorgeous "garden themed" shoot... Enjoy!!

Vicki shares a little info with us...
"Holly invited me over to do a small styled garden shoot with her daughters new antique desk as inspiration. To create a eclectic mix of old an new, I brought and old german cigar press and used bright modern white plates with textured pink napkins and small floral arrangements in silver mercury votives that could serve as favors for this garden style event.

Megan, the model, wore a short embroidered cream dress to add to the relaxed informal garden feel of the shoot. We also used a mix of well worn wood chairs that showed the many paint colors they had over the years and a wood bench to mix up the look of the intimate table.

The unique bouquet was created with a magnolia pod straight from the tree, cafe au lait dahlias, pink ohara cabbage roses, white ohara cabbage roses, sahara roses, green hydrangea from the garden, dusty miller, nandina foliages and clematis vine."

Thursday, August, 18, 2011  |  Inspiration

Hi My Lovelies....today we have the sweetest "Bluebell Bridal" inspiration for you....this lovely shoot was sent over by photographer and stylist, Vicki Grafton of Vicki Grafton Photography....Vicki's work is AMAZING.....always so beautiful...I'm excited to have Vicki, Tara (also, an awesome photographer) and Morgan (incredible floral designer) stop by the cafe today and share all the beauty with us...now Vicki is going to share all the details....let's check it all out....Enjoy!!!

"The shoot took place in the hills of Northern Virginia during the short window of time when the bluebells are in bloom.

Floral designer, Morgan at Petals & Hedges, created a textured bouquet with dogwood blooms, peonies, fiddle head ferns, french ranunculus, scilla, and some bluebells.  The concept was an intimate ceremony in the woods. We used a white bookcase to create the alter space and then placed books like Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream", blue vintage jars, and bottle vase with twine wraps to complete the look. An antique mirror was hung form the tree behind the book case to further create a focal point and highlight where the couple would says their vows.

The informal seating for guests was created with mismatched chairs and a long white bench and a short aisle was lined with wood slat lanterns. The white lanterns were enhanced by placing a blue vintage mason jar inside to add color and hold a votive."
