Hello!
I'm Alisha and I am so excited to be stopping by on The Bride's Cafe! If you are familiar with the Tumblr wedding blog scene, you may know me from Wedding Whimsy, my little blog about vintage, creative, rustic weddings. I was so fortunate to meet the sweet, talented Janie Medley this past week and she has been wonderful to let me come post on her blog! Hopefully I will be stopping by again sometime soon! Thanks for reading & I hope you enjoy!!! ~ A

Ribbons are the first thing that comes to mind when you think about crafts, gift wrap, and things you used to tie in your hair as a little girl... but what about weddings? Recently, different ways to use ribbons have been popping up all over the blogs and magazines. They are an inexpensive, mostly simple way to express your personality in your decor, and the opportunities to customize are endless! So as you read on, re-think those old spools of craft ribbons in your gift wrap closet and how they can inspire you to create something new.
1. Inspired by an Anthropologie floor set, a gorgeous cascade of paper ribbons creates the perfect backdrop for a rustic or empty-looking venue. Oh, yeah, and that's a DIY made from receipt tape by the way.

Over the weekend I was reviewing my notes on the weddings I have booked for this year....I always schedule time to make my "lists" and plan ahead on the things that I need to order....it's so fun to see how different each wedding will be and how the couple's personalities and style are shown in the designs....for me, the look and feel of the reception is key!.....this is where the couple and their guests will spend the most amount of time and this is where the couple's personalities come into play....I love it when I hear a guest walk into the reception and say, "This is so Anne & Mike"..(Anne and Mike are friends of mine)....this is when you truly know that you've done your job and of course I do my "happy dance"......I would love to know your "Reception Style"......check out the beautiful receptions below and leave a comment letting me know which one describes your special day...or which one comes close to it....have fun...xoxo
