| It's "Bouquet Friday" at the cafe y'all....today we are checking out flowers for the table at the reception....one of my favorite parts of designing flowers for a wedding are the reception tables....it's so fun to see it all come together and it's always a wonderful feeling getting the images back from the photographer with the details all in place...trust me, we, the floral designers, all do the "happy dance"! Happy Friday and I am SO excited about today's feature....for those of you who have been following the cafe since it opened, you know how much I ADORE my friend and floral mentor, Matthew Robbins of Matthew Robbins Design. I remember the first time meeting Matthew, I was like a little kid at Christmas...I've always loved his work...his floral designs and events are simply GORGEOUS!!...his style is so romantic and always so inspiring....and if you ever get the chance to meet him, trust me, you will fall in love with him!
Matthew is one of the nicest guys on the planet and he is so humble...I'm so happy to call him my friend!!....well, today, I'm so proud to feature Matthew's first book, Matthew Robbins' Inspired Weddings....when Matthew first told me about the book, I was doing my happy dance y'all...and last week, it arrived in the mail...oh yes, happy dance!
The book cover alone will make you want to purchase a copy and all the info and images on the inside....in a word....INSPIRING!!!

Good Morning again, loves! It's finally Friday and you know what that means?! It's the first official weekend of summer! As you're all getting ready to head out to the pool, beach, or basically anywhere else that is slam packed with other people, take a moment to rest your eyes on a perfect therapeutic color palette. As the summer is here, I will be finding some brighter colors to inspire us in the sunshine, but this week has been crazy and all I have been able to think of is getting a good night of sleep! So I decided on the calming elements of lavender. This popular, light, dusty shade of purple is very versatile. It can be made playful for a daytime wedding by adding shades of yellow, or dressed up with deeper shades of purple, such as plum. For today, I wanted to stick with the organic, natural-ness of it. So I chose to pair it with sage & mauve, both equally calm colors.
So before you start checking off your busy schedule, relax! After all, it is Friday! Dab a bit of lavender-scented oil on your wrists, and let the visual stress-relief begin!

| Happy Friday Everyone....I am so excited to share our first "Marriage Proposal" feature with you...the Proposal of Matt & Sarah...how sweet a couple are they....their "proposal story" was captured by David and Nancy Wittig of David Wittig Photography....their work is OMG BEAUTIFUL...I love having them stop by the cafe.
