Hi Guys...It's "Throwback Thursday" at the café....let's take a trip down memory lane with lots of beautiful florals and a yummy color palette for spring and summer...Enjoy!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will always find time for beautiful flowers..they make me happy and they always bring a calmness into my life...a few weeks ago, I got together with my beautiful friend Courtney of Merriment Events and Chrissy and Sara of Sweet Spot Candy...together we collobrated on a vibrant color palette inspirtation of pink, orange and yellow for the Artful Wedding event....we were so excited to be a part of the event and so excited to meet the guest speaker, Abby of Style Me Pretty...she is such a sweetheart and it was so much fun chatting with Abby and her husband....they are truly two of the nicest people....such a joy meeting them!!

Now let's check out all the pretty inspiration captured by Jodi and Kurt of Jodi Miller Photography...love them..they ROCK y'all....Enjoy!!

pink, orange and yellow color palette

To design our table, we used a standard white rental linen as our base. Over it, Courtney layered a vibrant ikat pattern fabric found locally at Williams-Sherrill (a fabric mecca!). Courteny shared that making your own overlay for a table is the easiest way to make your table your own. She said that you don't need to know how to sew to do it! Simply "seam" the edges of fabric using stitch-witchery (a fusible, iron-on bond).

The talented ladies at Sweet Spot Candy, layered candy in shades of pink, orange and yellow -- old-fashioned orange slices and new-fashioned grapefruit slices; lemon, cotton candy and sunkist jelly beans; yellow and pink mint nonpareils.  (Best candy store in RVA)!!

Candy Valley Cake Company proviced the simple, but elegant fondant-covered cake and we studded the top with a star-stopper coral charm peony!  (Make certain you check them out...their cakes are AMAZING and yummy)!

Jen Maton of If So Inklined calligraphy penned signs in whimsical, bright-white lettering. For a little bit of metallic sparkle, Courtney spray painted flower frogs gold to hold the cards (an idea that could easily translate to table numbers at a wedding!). Taper candles in orange and yellow complemented the bright blooms, and as a final touch, Courtney painted a vintage chiavari chair in the prettiest shade of salmon pink.

The flowers were a beautiful mix of peonies, ranunculus, sweet peas, parrot tulips and geranium leaves...the bouquet was tied with a pretty blue ribbon from Midori!!

I would totally LOVE to design the flowers for a wedding with this color palette...so, for any VA brides thinking about a pink, yellow and orange color palette, please give me a call!!
