DIY Contest Finalist #1 - Hillary 's Bridal Shower Invites

Hillary shares the info with us......."I wanted to do something fun and different for the bridal shower invitations for my friends' celebration. I was kinda tired of seeing the same "budget friendly" invitations out there. The whole process was quite easy.

I made the sign from a piece of thin poster board and cut out the shape, I just eye-balled it really. The letters were from a font that I downloaded for free from dafont.com and blew up the letters on Word, printed, cut them out and pasted them on the poster board.
The umbrella, I already had and I got it from the super cute Umbrella Society (umbrellas.net) in late 2008. The bride coordinated her shirt to match.

I asked the photographer ahead of time to do the shot idea for me and she was for it, I was so grateful! The alley location was the groom's idea. For the styling of the shot, I told the couple  what I was going for and they executed it perfectly! The photograph was taken by the lovely Jess Epstein during their engagement photo shoot, done in
North Beach and Chinatown districts of San Francisco. The rest of the engagement photos are on a Tumblr blog here. They are just gorgeous and so edgy, I love them!

The photo was turned into a postcard on snapfish, the text I wrote myself. With a coupon code from retailmenot, I got 35 invites printed for $30. Pretty good deal and the response from the receivers of the invite was great, even the significant others (males) of the guests loved it.

The text at the bottom: Mad Props to Jess Epstein Photography with the finger is what I used to cover the snapfish logo. I downloaded the finger and put it with text, then printed, cut and pasted with a glue stick onto the invites.

The bridalstorm attachment is what I put on the back of the postcard using snapfish's program. front of invite attachment is the photo I used for the front."
