Real {Virginia} Wedding - Shari & Ian

Good Morning Everyone! Hope you are having a splendid start to your Tuesday! This is Alisha & I am SO lucky & very excited to share with you my first Real Wedding post on The Café! Everyone meet Shari & Ian... This wedding is close to my heart because Shari & I actually went to the same high school & played volleyball together (which is a BIG deal… there were like 100 people in my high school…no joke) I am so glad that she was fortunate enough to meet her soul mate, Ian. Together they share the warmest, brightest smiles, and whenever you are around them you can't help but catch their contagious joy :-)

Shari & Ian had their beautiful ceremony & reception at Cooper Vineyards in Louisa, Virginia on September 10, 2011. Their gorgeous photography was done by Tall & Small Photography.

These photos just literally make me swoon! See for yourselves! :) Also, look for a few special words from the radiant Bride!

These photos of the bride & groom reading letters they wrote to each other... priceless.

Love this Mother & Daughter moment caught on camera.

The entire Bridal party wore Toms Shoes, and Shari's were gold!

The adorable DIY programs!

Ian watching Shari walk down the aisle... so sweet.

Shari's lovely bouquet, and all of the flowers were provided by Swineford Florist, Inc.

Right after being announced as Man & Wife! Love her face!

The fun bridal party :-)

Once again sporting & supporting the Toms cause...

This photo below is one of my favorites... just breathtaking.

Guests signed this pretty Guest Book Tree from Say Anything Design on Etsy.com  .

A note from the Bride about the DIY elements in her wedding:
"I had these ideas in my head as to what I wanted my wedding to be like. Then I saw this distressed teal candle holder at Pier One and everything changed. Then I decided I wanted the wedding to have more of a vintage feel. A lot of the decorations and things at the wedding were DIY. The wine bottles that held the flowers on the tables were all from wine Ian and I have drank together, we just soaked and removed the labels. The corks I got from the recycling at Ellwood Thompson and I just shaved the bottom off and cut a slit in the top to hold the placecards. All the buttons on the placecards and the program envelopes were hand sewn by me and the bridesmaids. The pocket on the front of the program had a little tissue inside. I made the "I do" signs for the cupcakes from cardstock, toothpicks, ribbon, and hot glue."

A gorgeous first dance photo... man, I love that dress! - from Bella Rosa.

The Cupcakes were provided by Martins/Ukrops Bakery, and the Cake was from Ipanema.

It is obvious by looking at this photo that the reception was just as fun as the couple!

I asked Shari what part of the wedding day was the most memorable to her...
"The thing that sticks out most about my wedding day was probably the dancing. It was definitely the most memorable thing to me. It was an awesome setting with the vineyard in the background and we put the dance floor right on the edge of the tent so it would be closest to the vineyard."

I love this goodbye photo... such a hollywood wave :)

I hope you all enjoyed the photos of Shari & Ian's beautiful vineyard wedding as much as I did! A BIG thanks to Tall & Small Photography for allowing us to feature their wonderful work!

In closing, I asked Shari to share one more thing... about how she has enjoyed being married for the past month:
"Being married is awesome and the best part is locking yourself in a house that belongs to BOTH of you and going to bed together. No one has to drive anyone home :-)"

Well, I think that sums it up pretty perfectly. CONGRATULATIONS Shari & Ian!!! We wish you a lifetime of happiness

:-)
