Emily Howard of Phileanor

Happy Wednesday Guys and I'm so excited to bring the "Meet The Designer" series back to the cafe.....and how sweet to start the new year off with one of my favorite designers, Emily Howard Kudva of Phileanor!  Emily is such a beautiful  and talented lady and I'm excited to have her stop by the cafe and share a little bit of "her world" with us.  Here's a little intro from Emily....

"I specialize in events and will travel anywhere between the New York Metropolitan area, which covers parts of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, and North Carolina, for jobs.  That being said, I would be willing to travel almost anywhere if it made sense financially.  I also do local deliveries most days of the week with 24 hours notice.  As of now, I am in the process of expanding Phileanor’s services to provide weekly or bi-weekly arrangements to both businesses and residences."

Happy Monday Guys...I'm so excited about the cafe's beautiful feature today...my beautiful and oh-so-talented friend and I also call her, the "Floral Rockstar", the lovely Kiana of Tulipina is so graciously letting me share her AMAZING "Prelude to Spring" film with you today.  When Kiana sent the film over to me a few days ago to get my opinion on it, I honestly couldn't think of the proper adjective to describe it...AMAZING  really is an understatement...check it out and you'll totally see what I mean...it's simply Kiana and if you don't know her, in my opinion, this film describes her talent and her passion for flowers perfectly!!

Kiana shared with me what inspired her to do the film......"Music is an ever-present source of inspiration in my life; it affects me in a way that nothing else does. About a year ago, while I had Wagner’s Tannhäuser Overture blasting, I started dreaming about combining the two things I love: music and flowers.

To me, there is something deep, grand, and fantastical about Wagner’s music. I wanted to create a brief artistic moment, as grand and worthy of that piece as I could with flowers. So started months of planning, work, and imagination. This is the result, and I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed creating it!"

Nancy Teasley of Oak & The Owl

Happy Monday Guys, thanks so much for stopping by the cafe and we are starting the week with our "Meet the Designer" series...say hello to the oh-so-beautiful and talented Nancy Teasley of Oak & The Owl!  I'm so excited to have Nancy join us today, her floral designs are ALWAYS so beautiful and I enjoy following her on INSTAGRAM to see what she's up to on a daily. Now get ready for some serious "floral love" as Nany shares a little bit of her world with us...Enjoy!!

From Nancy....."I mainly service all of Southern CA, from Santa Barbara to San Diego, but will happily travel anywhere for the right job. I love doing weddings in the Bay Area as my good friends are there, who are all designers and will sometimes work with me, and I get to have a little friend’s vacation while I’m working.  I’m also starting a new endeavor of a garden rose farm. I’ve started an IG account for it at @ellarosefarm. I haven’t taken the same care with the launch of this as I did with Oak & the Owl and I might regret it.

The reason I’ve been talking about it is because it’s such a long and drawn out process. If I kept it under wraps until I was ready to go to market, I’d be working for the next two years and not talking to anyone about it. So, if you want to watch the process of the land getting ready, the flowers going into the ground, and seeing our successes and failures, follow along. It should at least be fun, and those who want to do something similar can learn from what I’m currently learning every day."

Hi Guys, thanks for stopping by the cafe and today's feature is beyond sweet!  I have the pleasure of sharing a "behind the scenes" look at two very talented and AMAZING floral designers meeting for the first time...at the NY Flower Market of course!  Denise Fasanello, of Denise Fasanello Flowers located in Brooklyn and Brooke Howsley of Pollen Floral Art located in Austin, got together after becoming friends via email.  I have to share with you that I've met SO many wonderful floral friends via email and it's such a joy to finally meet in person...I can only imagine the fun Denise and Brooke had together designing beautiful floral arrangements and totally "girl chatting"....capturing their fun day and all the beautiful florals, Suzi Varin of Q Weddings!  I LOVE Suzi's work and I'm so excited to have her stop by the cafe today...now let's check out all the beautiful images Suzi sent over....Enjoy!!

I love this image of the flowers on the cart at the flower market...this is what we, floral designers do...placing all the floral on the cart to get a vision of the bouquet..and this combination of florals is truly "picture perfect"!
